Live-In Program

Do you want to save lives and save money? West Manchester Township Fire Department's live-in program may be for you!

Active firefighters are eligible to live with us for FREE! Our fire stations are equipped with four comfortable dormitories (male and female) with full kitchens, free laundry, and free fitness centers. In between calls, we’re sure to keep you and your new roommates entertained with pool tables, TVs with external gaming hook-ups, free WiFi, free Netflix, and free Xfinity on Demand. 

To be eligible for our live-in program, you must:

  • Be age 18 or older, and
  • Work a minimum of 20 hours per week or 
  • Be a full-time student
  • Possess Interior Firefighting Certification

Our live-ins respond to fire calls and attend meetings, trainings, public education events, and fundraisers when available. 

Our live-in program is ideal for students looking to or already attending one of our local area colleges. We are in traveling distance of:

  • Penn State’s York Campus
  • York College of Pennsylvania
  • Harrisburg Area Community College, Harrisburg Campus
  • Harrisburg Area Community College, York Campus
  • Multiple post-secondary education schools
