Ways to Volunteer
Is it in YOU to volunteer with West Manchester Township Fire Department?
There are several ways to do so!
The training and equipment are free and no previous experience is required.
You’ll become part of a second family committed to keeping the community safe!
Volunteer Firefighter- Learn how to respond to emergencies, help save lives and protect property. We’ll teach you how to position ladders, advance hose lines and other important skills. The training and equipment needed to keep you safe comes at no cost to you. Must be at least 18 years old to volunteer.
Fire Police: Ensure the safety of firefighters going to and from the fire scene. As a Fire Police volunteer, you will also direct traffic at the scene and provide crowd control.
Junior Firefighter- Join us as a junior volunteer starting at age 14. You’ll assist firefighters at the scene of an emergency and develop your skills for the future. Becoming a junior firefighter looks great on college applications and can be a great way to perform community service. The training and equipment are free.
Administration Member- Looking to help out as a volunteer but not interested in answering fire calls? We have an Administration volunteer opportunity for you! Become part of the backbone of our fire department by assisting with vehicle maintenance, fundraising, helping out at community events, teaching children about fire safety and more!
"It’s an absolute experience of a lifetime. The people you meet, the things you learn and see, you will never get anywhere else."
